FINDING A FERTILITY SPECIALIST

If you’ve checked out on of the Sperm Banks we have listed on our site, you will see that buying the actual Sperm is an investment within itself.  Using this process is not for the cheap or frugal, if you get my drift.

So in order to increase our chances of having a successful insemination, we decided to consult a Fertility Specialist.  Now I’m not recommending any particular one, as we live in Florida.  But please consult your insurance company and see which specialist would be right for you and your situation.  One of the first things we wanted to make sure of when we were choosing a Fertility Doctor was that he or she was open-minded.  Not sure how many had worked with Gay couples, so we wanted to make sure we were getting someone who didn’t already have some sort of bias or prejudice against Gay People in general.  This was very important to us as a couple.  So when making calls to the various Fertility Specialist on our insurance’s list of approved doctors, one of the first questions we asked was, “Is this clinic or doctor open to treating gay couples”. All of the clinics said “Yes”, to our surprise.

The next thing we considered was how detailed and professional their website was in giving information on the types of medications they use, success rates and most importantly cost.  So when we got all that information, we made a decision to go with Florida Institute of Reproductive Medicine or F.I.R.M.We made an appointment to talk to a physician.

We explained to our physician that we came to the Fertility clinic to increase our chances of having a successful insemination.  We wanted to avoid the hassle of trying to take the bodily temperature to see if my partner was ovulating.  We wanted to avoid having to count the days from the start of her period, to the days we “think” she may be ovulating.

Our doctor assured us that we had made the right decision.  He was not only going to use Ultrasound to tell us exactly how the follicles were maturing but also to help us with knowing when ovulation was taking place.  And by placing my partner on various medications, my partner would produce more than one egg, to increase our chance of having a successful insemination.With this method there is a higher risk of having twins, but that was a risk we accepted.  Twins were ok with us.You get it over quickly.  No need to get pregnant again, huh?

Suffice to say, we were happy with what we were hearing and we made an appointment to start taking Clomid 50 mg on her first cycle and return to the doctor on day 12 after her period started.   Now granted you could just as easily use this procedure, using the one egg and woman produces every month.  But as I stated earlier, we wanted to up our chances of having a successful insemination.

Candle Making Recipes – Balloon Candle

Grab a balloon, some wax, paraffin or regular, and a wick. That’s it – you’re good to go.

Melt your wax in a double boiler, old electric skillet or an old saucepan at a temperature between 165 and 185 degrees. Dip a water-filled balloon into the wax and pull it out quickly, allowing it to cool and set. Repeat until a 1cm thick wax coating forms around the balloon. Burst the balloon and remove it from the candle’s center.

Add in the warm wax, rotating around the shell continuously until the interior is almost fully covered. Insert the wick and pour in the remaining wax. Hold the wick until it is supported by wax that has colled and firmed. Your masterpiece is done!

Candle Making Recipes - Beeswax Candle

Grab your scissors and a sheet of beeswax and some cotton wick. Cut the beeswax sheet in half. Choosing one sheet, place the wick on the long side of the beeswax with approximately 1 inch of the wick extending past both ends.

with your fingertips, gently roll the beeswax around the wick binding the wick securely to the wax. The heat from your hands should create a seamless candle. Continue to tightly roll the beeswax. Make sure it is straight as you go along.

Once reaching the end, meld the seam into the candle body by running your warm fingertips along the seam. Trim the wick at both ends. The one that is to be your base, cut flush against the wax. The other end will be the top of your candle. Here, snip the wick to 1/4 inch above the wax.

See? I did not steer you astray! Quick, simple and painless. And what about fun, fun, fun and very self satisfying! All that is left to do now is to show off the beautiful creations from your candle making recipes!

Buying Yellow Paintings

I’ve been watching yellow paintings at and online auction site. I wonder where these yellow paintings will end up hanging. There were twenty bids on a painting of yellow daffodils. It was really pretty.

I really liked the painting titled Red Flowers Yellow Ochre Morning. It came back three panels that were each 20″X16″. The picture online showed the painting above a bed and it just looked so clean and crisp. The medium for this painting was acrylic.

The smallest paintings that I discovered were on a panel bracelet. The paintings were of Indian and Near Eastern rulers. The paintings were put in an openwork gold frame set with seed pearls. This piece was created in the early twentieth century.

Another yellow painting that I liked was Yellow World by Karen Khachaturov. There were a great deal of contrasting yellows in it. I could see yellow lemons and an attractive yellow flower. The lemons were painted so realistically. This artist has paintings hanging in private galleries in over 40 countries.

I can just imagine that the oil painting of yellow roses by an unknown artist will hang in a lovely home. The painting has a nice quality to it. The petals of the yellow roses in the painting used to reach out as if they were still alive.

There was a nice painting that had twenty bidders that was of a vase of yellow daffodils. The feel of the painting was that of one of the masters in impressionist art. The artist listed the item herself and she is also a poet and songwriter. I can close my eyes and see that painting hanging in someone’s formal parlor. It is so very elegant.

The future home of the French chic painting of yellow, lavender and pink roses must be that of a very feminine woman. When I was looking at the painting, I could nearly smell the roses. I believed that the price of 200 dollars was unsatisfactory. I think it should have sold for more.

My search for yellow paintings discovered a painting entitled Yellow Taking Over. I don’t know why the artist titled his work like that. There was some yellow in this collage, but not too much. The painting was done in 1956 by Nicholas Krushenick. It came from the personal collection of a famous photographer that works for the Village Voice. This would look good in someone’s law office.

I wish that I could have purchased the antique oil painting of exotic yellow flowers. The auction stated that it was painted in 1897. The pictures made the painting look care about it was in great shape for being over one hundred years of age. It would look good on the wall of my guest bedroom.

Artist Heidi Vaught had a listing for a painting she titled Ambiance numbered 10. The painting had just one bidder and sold for the opening bid, 100 dollars. I believe the winning bidder got quite a bargain. This painting was abstract with a great deal of teal and yellow.

Another painting by Heidi Vaught went for sixty [five dollars]. This was another bargain, ask any me. The painting was entitled Yellow Squared and it had a really dizzy feeling to it. I loved it at the beginning sight.

I have a pal that would have like the painting I found of a yellow cat. It looked just like her cat. The painting was a unique acrylic up-to-date painting in yellow ochre. It would have complemented her modern furnishings.

Yellow roses make a wonderful subject. I never tire of paintings of yellow roses. My favorite recently was done by Joan Cobb Mayer. The interpretation was stunning.

There was one other yellow rose oil painting that caught my eye recently. This one was painted by Berniece Meyers. The bloom extended to all sides of the canvas and the center seemed infinite. I felt good after viewing it.

There is a growing interest in collecting ornaments and figurines relating to frogs.  No one is sure why frogs are becoming collectors’ items.  One reason could be that a person is afraid that they won’t be able to see them in the wild for much longer.  Others may be attracted to them since they can add a very unique touch to decorating both indoors and outdoors. As is the case with any collection there needs to be a way of knowing what is in the collection and there needs to be confidence that the collection is safely stored.  Unlike some collectibles, the way that a person keeps track of what they have is up to them to determine.  The exact method does not matter as long as the person keeping it understands it.  It is always helpful to know what is in your collection as this will help you decide about future additions and whether they are needed or worthy of spending money on.  Collectors can usually spend any amount of money that is available.  There are many more important things that a person must have the cash for than collectibles.

It is very important for a person to figure out what they are going to do to show off their collection while still keeping it safe. Cupboards with glass doors are a great start, but when buying try to get the ones that have a good seal so that dust does not easily get in, otherwise there will be the constant job of keeping the collection clean and looking great.

Collecting Frogs – a Fun Hobby for All Ages means that none of these challenges are really too big for the avid collector, until the collection is really large, and whatever is done, it should be done with enjoyment and fun.
